Decking Trends Discussed

Our team answers homeowner questions every weekend on WCCO 830 AM from 9:00 am-10:00 am. Have your most pressing home improvement questions answered by calling 651-989-9226 or texting 81807. Here’s must-know information from our in-house deck specialist, Luke Panek, shared on 9.29.18.

Regardless if a homeowner opts for a custom wood or composite deck, we highly encourage them to consider the installation of a maintenance-free railing system. Anyone that’s ever undertaken the tedious task of staining a wooden deck railing system can certainly understand why! Popular options are metal, composite, and tempered glass.

Composite Decks are a Sought-After Home Improvement. Here’s What You Need to Know About Zuri®:

Another decking trend that’s picking up a sizable following is the installation of Diamond Pier deck footings. They work exceptionally well in soils that hold significant moisture levels. They’re gaining popularity in the Twin Cities because they’re specifically designed to withstand the annual ground freeze and thaw. Contractors appreciate that they have the ability to be installed faster than conventional footings.

Composite Deck Building Reviews:

"We had Luke from Lindus come out to give us an estimate to demo our existing wood deck and replace it with a low-maintenance, composite deck. We were very impressed with his proposal and ordered one. The deck turned out fantastic. We specified treated lumber framing and Azek® for the decking and trim. Color coordinated steel railings and integrated stair and post lighting complement the project. The crew couldn't have been better. We are totally satisfied with the deck and with Lindus."

"I've been using Lindus Construction for many years, because EVERYTHING they do, they do well. They have put on gutters, a new roof, siding, windows, doors, a new deck, and even drain tiles. Everything is done perfectly. I've tried many contractors in the past. None even come close to Lindus."

"We had Lindus replace our existing deck with a new cedar deck. Sales and design were handled professionally (listened to what we wanted, an eye for detail and didn't try to sell us something we didn't want). Lead carpenter was courteous and respectful of us and our property. Overall, a great project done in a respectful way and ready for use come spring."

"Tyler was exceptional. He explained what he would be doing and patiently answered our questions. He provided an honest opinion of what was needed and what he felt wasn't needed. I appreciated his honesty as many companies just try to sell services that aren't necessary. Lindus has worked for us previously and I've been very impressed with their employees and their products."

"We’ve used Lindus on, I think, for four projects. All the way from scheduling and appointment to inspection/evaluate some situation to project completion. Looking for a quick/cheap solution, good luck on that. You will not regret hiring Lindus to do a home project, no matter the scope. Lindus has a long family history in the area of home improvement."

"We had Charlie and Scott handle our basement project and couldn't be more happy. They allowed us to choose options for what they would do for us while we took on some work ourselves. They both made sure the job and quality were exceptional."

"I signed another contract with Lindus Construction — this time to spray foam and fully seal my attic, followed by an additional top layer of insulation. This is not a simple job. My home has a very complex Unico high-velocity air conditioning system running throughout the attic, and Lindus still took it on without hesitation."
